As a trained Kinesiologist, Caroline is extremely knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition and has identified my fitness needs and developed a training plan specifically for me. ♥ "I am so glad that I found Caroline and Thank You Mommy Wellness. I started going to classes about 6 weeks after my daughter was born, after having gained over 40 pounds during my pregnancy despite eating well and exercising throughout. (I eventually stopped weighing myself because it was too frustrating!) I was determined to recover my familiar body, and do it in a healthy way.
Caroline's understands being a Mom and makes everything really comfortable. There's no judgment for how you are or what you can do. She always goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and free to do what you need for yourself and your baby. Even if I was going to be late because my daughter decided she needed a marathon breastfeeding session right before I left the house, I could still go, knowing Caroline would welcome me in the middle of class. This level of acceptance is empowering and got me through the early months when it can be really tough to commit to anything!
Now that my daughter is 16 months, we're still enjoying classes together. I lost all the weight, and then some! I have a wonderful energy level and better upper body strength than ever before. I feel like I've completely recovered my old body, not just in the way I look but also in my strength and mobility. ♥ Before I began the prenatal yoga classes with Caroline, I was feeling very tired and stressed from my work and it was making me anxious for my baby. I had been doing yoga for a couple of years before I got pregnant and liked to exercise and be active in my life. I was so glad to find Caroline's Prenatal Yoga Classes sign while walking on Columbia street one day, because I had been searching for a way to stay active during my pregnancy for a couple of months already.
The classes have helped me to refocus on good breathing, posture and relaxation, what I really needed at that time ! Caroline's classes are relaxing, provide just enough challenge and the breathing exercises helped me stay focused on my baby, breathing away all my worries. The simple exercises were easy to do at home as well, so I continued even on days with no classes.
I took the yoga classes from 20 weeks of pregnancy to the delivery, and I truly believe that they helped me a lot to have a very positive birthing experience, even if it took 41 hours ! I delivered my 8 pounds 4 onces little boy completely naturally and was able to breath thru all of my contractions. The recovery after the birth wasn't long either, after a couple of days, I felt more energized and wanted to go out ! Now I am looking forward to the mommy and baby classes with my little guy and I reccomended the prenatal classes to my pregnant sister in law.
